DANIEL BOONE (ASHEVILLE, NC)

Scout Executive

  • We will expand, train, and activate the religious relationships committee

  • We illw incorporate the Duty to God segment patch in the Camp Daniel Boone program

  • We will plan and conduct religious emblems training for both youth and leaders in the University for Scouting training experience

  • We will conduct a fall Bishop’s Dinner in the fall of 2006

CONQUISTADOR (ROSWELL, NM)

Council & District Religious Emblems Chair 

  • Sell/market religious emblems to provide a resource to satisfy individual church/organization’s needs.

  • In coordination with the SE, produce an agenda for each DE to not only strengthen the council but each district to promote religious emblems as a tool to retain and increase membership. Also to retain and initiate new units.

  • Recruit and train volunteers in the other 3 districts to promote religious emblems and encourage/strength current units and promotion of new units. Promote religious emblems at Pow Wow and other council events. Make presentations at ministerial alliances in the theme “How can we help your youth program within your church.”

  • Volunteer for the New Mexico State Knights of Columbus to promote/assist in promoting the new program coming down. I am a past state youth director and past state treasurer.

MIAMI VALLEY (DAYTON, OH)

Cub RT Commissioner, Unit Commissioner, T268 Chaplain, C268 Assoc. Advisor, Interfaith Committee, Webelos Weekend Chair

  • Meet with Council Executive to present how promoting religious emblems can increase membership and instill BSA ethical and moral values. In turn, the Chartered partners/Charter Organization/Churches will also have increased membership and promotion of the religious program.

  • Present and train leaders in Duty to God at Cub Roundtable, Council Venturing training, Council University of Scouting and, as staff, encourage religious emblems promotion in the diversity portion of the Wood Badge ticket.

  • Present Duty to God in T268, C268, and P307 and during the Chapel Service of Webelosree.

  • Work on the Interfaith Committee promoting religious emblems through the Duty to God program plus other religious activities such as a 12 point hike and summer camp interfaith devotions in Boy Scout summer camp and Cub Scout and Webelos Day Camp.

SEQUOYAH (JOHNSON CITY, TN)

District Executive

  • Search out new potential chartered partners through topics learned in the course

  • Bring religious emblems program to the district and council through education of the professional staff and volunteers

  • Make the community aware of the program through publicity through newspaper articles and PSA’s

  • Make sure there is follow-through for the program

PINE BURR AREA (HATTIESBURG, MS)

ADC

  • Meet with SE and share information obtained from the Religious Emblems Training Conference. Discuss a date before August 1st to brief the professional staff so that this program can be implemented at school night for scouting.

  • Work closely with Relationships Committee to build an Interfaith Recognition Committee. Also with the Membership Committee to increase membership.

  • Implement training council-wide as well as to individual units involving the religious emblems program and Duty to God Patch program. This can be conducted at Roundtables, University of Scouting, Commissioner Service, Basic Leader Training, as well as committee trainings.

  • Development of an interfaith retreat to bring together different faiths with the common goals of the Boy Scouts in regards to Duty to God. This will also develop closer relationships council-wide among the religious community and families in scouting.

HEART OF VIRGINIA (RICHMOND, VA)
Field Director

  • Working with the Relationships Committee to instate an awareness of the religious emblems for youth and adults via a comprehensive marketing plan for the council.

  • Provide support and information to existing religious institutions (Charter Partners) via Pow wow, Commissioner College, Super Saturday and various council events.

  • Hold a council-wide “Impact Event” for existing Charter Partners to promote religious emblems and establish new partnerships for growth.

CATALINE (TUCSON, AZ)

ASE 

  • Promotion Plan / Plan of Action for Duty to God Promotion – have more youth earn religious emblems and recognize them.

  • Better understanding of religious emblems – how produced, different levels, and requirements. Able to train field staff.

  • Focus on how religious emblems can be tired in to membership growth – train staff and include in Fall Roundup plans and new unit campaign.

  • Ideas to build size and impact of relationships committee

MIAMI VALLEY (DAYTON, OH)
Cub Roundtable Commissioner / Interfaith Committee
 

  • Meet with SE to share what I learned in the Religious Emblems Conference.

  • Challenge woodbadgers to write in their diversity portion of their woodbadge ticket to help promote and train the Duty to God program.

  • Include the Duty to God program in every event, council training, and in the community.

  • Make commissioners aware of how this program can help strengthen troubled and week units. To also use it to strengthen relationships with church charter partnerships.

EAST TEXAS AREA (TYLER, TX)
Unit Commissioner

  • Set up meeting with Council Executive. Find out who is handling relationships committee job and who is in charge of committee. Get permission to put information about religious awards on web site and in newsletter. Find out who gets P.R.A.Y.’s newsletter and see about copy.

  • Set up meeting with council training committee to set up changes in woodbadge training and basic training courses to cover religious emblems.

  • Set up meeting with DE. Set up Bald Eagle Get-Together. Map out all major towns showing current units, number of units, religious organizations using religious awards program. Map out areas of unreached groups.

  • Contact current units with only one or two units. Push for increasing number of units. Try to get permission to make presentation on religious awards to Baptist Association in District. Make every district Roundtable in the council make religious awards presentations twice each year.
