Programs of Religious Activities with Youth
Boy Scout News Bulletin
Fourth Quarter 2008

Welcome to P.R.A.Y.’s Boy Scout News Bulletin. This Bulletin is how we share information about the religious emblems programs and ways to strengthen relationships with the religious community.

P.R.A.Y. IS MOVING!
New address effective January 1, 2009:

P.R.A.Y.
11123 South Towne Square, Ste. B
St. Louis, MO 63123-7816

After 25 years in the same location, P.R.A.Y. is moving because the building where we rent office space is being sold. We’re not moving far (we’re in the same zip code and only 5 miles from our current location), however, the move seems a lot bigger than perhaps what it really is. CEO Mark Hazlewood remembers setting up the office for his Dad in the summer of ’82. At that time P.R.A.Y. was just starting up and everything fit in a single “classroom.” We have more than tripled since then. We are leaving a lot of memories behind, not the least of them being a terrific relationship with the Work Activities Center (the sheltered workshop that owned the building and from which we always employed a worker). P.R.A.Y. will be relocating to an office/warehouse facility. The move is rather sudden. If we need to shut down for a day or two, we will announce it on our website www.praypub.org . Please make note of our new address and visit our website for updates. Thank you!

READY FOR SCOUT SUNDAY/SABBATH? ORDER YOUR PUZZLE PATCHES NOW!
The requirements for the puzzle patch are simple: find out about the religious emblems and promote them. Plan now to make presentations on the religious emblems programs so that the young people who hear about the religious emblems and make a commitment may receive a puzzle patch. Scout Sunday/Sabbath is coming up in February. It’s a good time to generate interest in religious emblems.

The puzzle patch is on a four-year cycle. P.R.A.Y. currently has two segments available: the anchor patch with the kneeling Scout (the anchor patch should be the first patch that a Scout receives), and the Eagle Patch. The patches will be available on a continual rotation. Don’t worry if you have missed one because it will come around again. Information on religious emblems and sample presentation resources are available from P.R.A.Y. To purchase a segment of the puzzle, go to www.praypub.org .

P.R.A.Y. TARGET COUNCILS
P.R.A.Y. is accepting applications for “Target Councils.” Target councils receive 2 scholarships to the “Religious Emblems Course” taught at the Philmont Training Center (at least one of the scholarships must be used by a Council Professional). Target Councils also receive follow-up onsite training from P.R.A.Y. for council staff and volunteers. Target Councils must be interested in growing their membership through the religious community. If interested, click here for an application form. Please note the dates for the Philmont course: June 21-27, 2009.
